Strawberry afternoon tea in Ginza, Tokyo
We went for a Strawberry afternoon tea at the Hyatt Centric Ginza in Tokyo! It was beautiful, so delicious and completely gluten free. They often host seasonal events so you should absolutely check it out!

Inspired by Roronoa Zoro, my favourite directionally challenged swordsman! I am making a miso and soy pork filled onigiri that I believe Sanji would have absolutely made for him. Ongiri are simple, versatile, and delicious! This pork filling is bursting with umami from the miso paste, soy sauce, mirin, and garlic. Fresh fluffy rice filled with the delicious pork filling and wrapped in nori is just tooo good! You absolutely have to make it for yourselves. I’m sure that if Sanji made these for Zoro, he wouldn’t leave over a single grain of rice, and neither will you!
This may be the prettiest sandwich I’ve ever seen! While in Japan, you can get some amazing street food and this Tokyo spot should be on your list! In Harajuku Tokyo, you can get this iconic rainbow grilled cheese from Le Shiner on Takeshita Street. I had to make it at home! If you have food allergies or just aren’t in Japan but want the experience and fun of a rainbow grilled cheese, this one’s for you. Thinly shredded mozzarella cheese + food colouring, carefully arranged on buttered bread and grilled until gooey. That’s it! A delicious treat to give you a taste of Japan at home!
You have got to try Japanese Soufflé Pancakes! Light and fluffy pancakes covered in fresh strawberry jam and whipped cream. We ate them at this beautiful little place called Riz Labo Kitchen in Tokyo and we ended up going back multiple times to have more delicious pancakes! A simple recipe with a meringue base, topped with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, a generous drizzle of jam, and some powdered sugar. I swear you’ll feel like you’re at an adorable café in Tokyo while enjoying these at home!
Inspired by Blue Lock, I’m making Kunigami’s Steak Prize. A well deserved prize for scoring the most goals, Kunigami shares his delicious steak with Isagi. It’s a simple recipe/dish but the boys just absolutely love it! A juice steak slathered in an umami rich sauce, yum! Oh yeah, don’t forget the perfectly cooked veggies. I really enjoyed this anime and am definitely looking forward to season 2!
Inspired by Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill, I’m making a cozy plate of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce for Fel. This is a cute isekai anime focused on cooking and oh my god the food looks so amazing. I actually wanted to eat everything in the show! With so many yummy options, it wasn’t east to choose what to make but I thought that Fel in this scene was especially cute. He devours his plate of spaghetti and ends up absolutely covered in meat sauce. I loved it! A heaping plate of spaghetti and meat sauce is simple to make and super cozy, I definitely understand why Fel couldn’t get enough.
Inspired by Chainsaw Man, I’m making chicken Karaage for Power. These bites are crispy, juicy, and super flavourful! No wonder Power wanted the whole plate to herself… This karaage is a classic and simple recipe that will give you a taste of Japan and bring some of that delicious anime food into your home. A must try recipe that you are sure to love!
I’m recreating food from the Haikyu!! manga, Negitoro Onigiri for Miya Atsumu! Onigiri are simple to make and really delicious. Minced tuna, mixed with soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and green onion is a perfect filling for Onigiri, so it’s no surprise that it is Tsumu’s favourite!
In celebration of One Piece’s 25th anniversary, here is my spin on the classic Gin and Tonic. Homemade Sakura Cherry Blossom Syrup paired with Japanese Gin, and Korean Lotte Milkis Soda makes for a fancy, but simple and delicious cocktail that will keep you wanting more!
Inspired by Sakura season in Japan, these gluten free Baked Strawberry Donuts are moist, chewy and bursting with fresh strawberry flavour. They are simple and kawaii, bringing the spring flavours and aesthetic of the beautiful cafes in Japan, to your home!
